I have to admit though that, it’s recommended to visit New York in April, May, September or October. My choice will also be New Year’s Eve. Things to Do in NYC – Unique Attractions

Although many might think that New York City attractions resume to Statue of Liberty or Central Park, New York has several unique attractions. Every district may be considered a New York attraction for itself.

So you’re invited to see Manhattan, Staten Island, Brooklyn, Queens and Bronx. The safest of all this districts in New York City is Manhattan. This is the place where all the main sights are. When visiting other districts be really careful. Don’t adventure yourself in city trips by night.

While using public transportation in New York City, try to keep a low profile. Be as American as you can. It’s better if you don’t have on you large amounts of money. Keep your luggage under your constant supervision. In case of emergency, you know what you have to do. Call 911.

I am sure that you will start discovering New York City, only after a trip to the Statue of Liberty. Just so you won’t get lost, I will mention that the symbol of New York City is located on Liberty Island. Here you can get by ferryboat. You can also visit Ellis Island Immigration Museum on Ellis Island, both of the islands above being a part of a ferry circuit.

Because here in New York City all is about liberty, why not go on Liberty Street and visit something different. It’s not a museum for sure, but is so much more exciting. I’m talking about Federal Reserve Bank of New York or just Fed. Don’t go to Fed without having a reservation.

Continue your visit in New York City on Wall Street. Yes, this is “that” Wall Street of Michael Douglas. Keep in mind that is very crowded. Be patient while visiting the area.

At the Corner of Broadway with Wall Street you can find Trinity Church, the former tallest building in Manhattan. Today is overshadowed  by skyscrapers. On the other side of Wall Street you can admire the oldest public building in town, Saint Paul’s Chapel. The Chapel belongs to the Trinity Church parish. This building has been a rescue place after the attacks of September 2001. In the memory of those events, the place houses a permanent exhibition named “Unwavering Spirit: Hope and Healing at Ground Zero”

In the southwest of Manhattan, you will discover a greenery oasis – Battery Bark. Here you can admire the Sphere, which is located at the Bowling Green entrance. This is the creation of Fritz Koenig. It was saved from World Trade Center tragedy.

For the lovers of museums, New York City has prepared many wonderful surprises. Metropolitan Museum or Met is definitely a must when visiting New York. You can also consider visiting Guggenheim Museum, American Folk Art Museum, Asia Society and Museum or Studio Museum in Harlem.

For shopping sessions, New York City is the perfect place. All top designers stores can be found on Fifth Avenue or Madison Avenue. You will also be charmed by shops in Soho, Nolita, East or West Village.

Visit the largest department store in the world, Macy’s Herald Square, in Chelsea. Buy at least one souvenir.

Although New York City is all about modern and cutting edge technology, some antiques objects can be found in New York’s markets. The most popular market in the city is The Annex.

For some fresh food go and take a look at Chelsea Market, Murray’s Cheese Shop or Gourmet Garage. I guarantee you’ll be satisfied, no matter your culinary tastes.

New York City Restaurants –Curiosity and Variety

If you prefer eating at a restaurant then I will recommend you a visit in China Town. Oriental Garden restaurant is a really good choice. Besides delicious exotic dishes, you can enjoy a relaxing foot massage.

For a late coffee, River Café awaits you in Brooklyn. Enjoy your coffee while admiring Hudson River.

Your lunch will be memorable if you go to Park Avenue Café, in the Upper East Side. If you’re longing for some French cuisine, Gascone Restaurant in Chelsea is the perfect place. Try some foie gras, while seated at a table in the outdoor garden. You will feel like a Frenchman in New York.

Café Carlyle or Oak Room can be the perfect place for a night out. Cocktails have found their homes in Bemelmans Bar, Campbell Apartment or World Bar. Go visit them.
